Peeyew!!

My Skunk with Rusty a.k.a. Underdog!!!

Weekend

Watching the Kangaroos sleep! I think he really enjoyed this exhibit because he could see the animals without being held up!  We stood here for a while!

We stopped for a photo on the Kimodo Dragon!

This is Nathan’s new favorite thing to do!  He climbs over everything possible!  He has learned to catch himself going down the other side so he doesn’t crash face first in to the ground!

Having a moment with a large lizard!

When we were finished at the zoo we rode the train back to the entrance! Here we are with Nathan’s grandad!

At dinner Saturday night, Nathan finished his dinner and then couldn’t keep his eyes open! He put his head down and slept while we finished our dinner!

At lunch on Sunday, his grandad couldn’t keep the icecream coming fast enough!  Notice the grip on the table.  Nathan was almost climbing the table to get to the ice cream faster!  Fun times!

Fall has Fell

The first and second graders at my school today went on a field trip to a local pumpkin patch!  Here are a few pictures!  We had a blast and the weather was perfect!

Today

This is Rose Festival Weekend in Tyler!  This morning there was a parade, and, of course, we got out in the beautiful weather and enjoyed the parade!  I have a video that I hope to post soon!  Everytime a band marched by, Nathan would flail his arms, clap some and dance in his own special way!  The other floats and entries did not receive the same excitement from Nathan as the bands did!  I believe that his first parade experience was a good one!

This one is fun because it has a funny story behind it!  I posted the large picture so you could see some detail!  I am holding a rose!  Notice that the rose does not have a bud!  One of the cars that drove by threw roses to the crowd.  I went and got one for Nathan. I was showing it to him when he grabbed the bud, ripped it off the stem and threw it into the street!  While he did this he was saying, “Ba.”  (ball)

Speaking of balls . . . in the early evening we headed to a local pumpkin patch!  I sat Nathan next to these pumpkins to take some pictures!  He picked up the pumpkin he is holding and, of course, said, “Ba.”  The kid LOVES balls!  Everything is a ball!  I am proud to say, though, that he did NOT throw the pumpkin!

Nathan also got to ride in his first wagon!  Can you tell how exciting it was?  He is having so much fun he can hardly stand it!  I think I will go out and buy him a wagon so he can have this kind of fun at home!!!  He is completely UNDERwhelmed!

This is my favorite picture of the evening!  Cutie pie!  I hope to go back to a pumpkin patch and actually purchase pumpkins to carve and display.  Nathan was in an odd disposition this evening!  We didn’t last long at the pumpkin patch!

Afternoon in the Park

The weather was too beautiful to spend it inside, so, after church, Nathan, Rusty and I headed to the park around the corner!  We swang, played in the grass, practiced walking, and took LOTS of pictures!  Here are a few!

Neither of the boys would look at the camera, so I thought I would join them!  Looks like we were looking at something very interesting!  Truth be told, there was no one else at the park!  We are looking at an empty playground!!!  :)

Look, ma!  No hands!!!  Nathan has been letting go more often these days!  He has even begun to take a few steps!  I just might have a walking skunk come October 31!!!!!

This is one of Nathan’s favorite things to do!  However, you can tell by Rusty’s face that this is not HIS favorite thing!  He has a look like, “Here he goes again!”

The last thing Nathan did was find a pinecone!  He held it up and I said, “Pinecone.”  He said something that made me think he was trying to repeat me!  He said, “Pah.”  We repeated this several times!

We are back home now, resting!  We had a great time in the park enjoying the beautiful weather!

My Punkin

Nathan received a new pair of pajamas in the mail today! His memaw sent him his Halloween Jamas! Isn’t he the cutest punkin you have ever seen?

We had a lot of fun today and I will post pictures of that another time!

Smiles for Memaw

The Good and the Sad

Well, today has been a wonderful yet super sad day!  Super sad because my mother’s brother, who had been suffering from bone cancer for a while now, passed away this morning.  Also, pretty sad because I am at home with a sick baby.  :(

It has been a wonderful day because my uncle is no longer in pain and he is “home.” Wonderful because my brother and his wife found out that they are having two very healthy baby girls!

Please pray for my mother and grandmother as they make the arrangements for my uncle’s funeral.  My brother is going to the funeral but I am not sure if I will be able to go (and that makes me sad).  Please, also continue to pray for the health of my sister-in-law and her baby girls!  Also pray that my house will become healthy again soon!

My Smart Boy

Here is a video of Nathan showing off his mad skills!  He is standing, trying to climb and already problem solving (music to any teacher’s ears)!!!!  Please disregard my voice! Wow it sounds SUPER special in this video!  I am also listening to the recording of my church’s worship service and randomly break out into song along with them!  Those of you who know me, know that this is not odd but a rather often occurance!!!

Memaw, you should be super proud of your grandson.  He is showing great thinking skills at such a young age!

Love you!

The Letter B and the Number 10!

I am thinking sesame street this week and have decided that this post is brought to you by the letter B and the number 10!

The number 10 because my sweet baby boy turned 10 months old September 19!  It is hard to believe!  Look at that smile!  (Oh, Bhood!  My target here was selling the pants we talked about!  I bought Nathan a pair! Now he and E can sic ‘em together!)

This post is brought to you by the letter B because all of Nathan’s new words begin with the letter B!  He has begun saying “bah, bah.” and waving when something is leaving!  He waves to Rusty in the morning when we put him in his room and leave for school!  Yesterday morning I swear he said (while waving), “bah, ruh.”  hmmm . . . hmmmm . . . smartest kid in america I venture to say!  Rusty was his first word and then came ma, ma!  I will take it!  (I bought his shirt because of what it said on it! Can you read it?)(For the record, it is hard to pose an active boy who is into EVERYTHING and a very jealous and hyper doggie for a picture!  This was the best one!)

“Seriously, mom, could you stop taking pictures?”  (Thanks T for that caption)

His newest word today was ba (pronounced like the a in apple)!  I got him a large plush baseball in honor of the playoffs starting today.  It was in his carseat when he got in the car after school.  He looked at it and said, ‘ba, ba, ba, ba.’  I handed it to him and he, of course, threw it!  I love this kid!

He also discovered the box that his halloween costume came in!  Forget the toys, he wants the box!  He pushed it like a walker!  Climbed in it!  Stood in it!  He LOVED it!  I think I will get him a box for his birthday!

His other new thing this week is (and I will keep with the B theme), el empezo’ a bailar!!!  He started dancing!  When he hears children’s music, he starts dancing!  It is the cutest thing I have ever seen!  I have some videos and will post them soon!

Finally, to make a long post even longer, Nathan has begun climbing on things!  My job just got harder!  He has learned to put his leg up on things and climb!  He has taken a few face plants, but over all he is pretty good about getting back down the way he came!

Finally, we went to Houston last weekend to hang out with my brother and his family!  While we were there, my brother was kind enough to let me tag along and go to the Braves/Astros game!  It was super fun!  Notice that we are wearing rivaling t-shirts!  The Braves killed the Astros, but it was super fun to be there, buy a new shirt, and find some new players to cheer for!  Love you, Steven!

Next weeks post will be brought to you by the letter M and the number 11!  Love you guys!  Miss you and hope to see you soon!
