We left bright and early yesterday morning to visit my  mom and dad!  This is Nathan’s first trip (outside of me) and he did relatively well!  He had a few streaks of non-stop crying, but for the most part he was a traveling champ!  We are both tired today, but all in all it was a great trip!  I will post pictures later!

He has already had a great time with his cousin Michelle and his Memaw and Papa!  There are also these strange meowing creatures that wander around that have caught his eye!  He only knows HUGE in your face animals (love you Rusty)!  I am sure he will like cats by the time we leave!

Jumparoo

Jumparoo King

I caught him still!  I think he looks precious in this jumparoo!

Here is the action shot!  He did this for a LLLOOONNGGGG time!  He loved it!

His goofiness coming through!  Uh, oh!  He might be more like his papa than I originally thought!  :) (Love you dad)

How I Spent My Anniversary . . .

Yesterday was a little rough because it would have been our 8th wedding anniversary.  I tried to keep my mind occupied so that I wouldn’t just sit down and be sad, but several times glimpses of what might have been and reminders of what is not came creeping in.  I received a sweet note from a friend today that made me cry because she reminded me how much she loved me and that she had thought about me and prayed for me all day!  Thanks, friend!

Yesterday, Nathan and I started the day at the local farmer’s market with a friend!  It was little, but the food we bought was great!  (I am still trying to figure out what to do with the Purple Hull Peas that I bought ~ so if you have any ideas, bring ‘em on).  We then went to lunch with a few friends at my new favorite (okay one of my top favorite) restaurant in town.  We went home and took long naps and then headed to do this . . .

That’s right . . . we got a new car!  Don’t worry!  It was not a spur of the moment decision in the middle of a difficult day!  I had been dealing with the guys at the dealership for about a week and the numbers came together yesterday!  Based on the pictures above, I would say that my little Baylor Bear loves his new car!  He fell asleep on the way hom from the dealership! :)

In other news, Nathan is so close to crawling!  He reaches and leans and pushes with one knee.  I LOVE watching him develop!  He has also decided that he would rather be standing than anything!  He pulls up on me all the time and tries to pull up on other stationary objects-with no luck yet!

My friend brought over a jumparoo thing that I will post pictures of later!  Nathan LOVED it!  He jumped and jumped and jumped and jumped until he was finally tired!  It was so cute!

For Aunt Jenny with Love, Nathan!

I thought of my dear friend Jennifer when I witnessed this over the weekend!  I was setting up Nathan’s portable crib and he was taking in his surroundings.  He discovered this huge piece of art propped up against the wall and just stared at it for a LONG time.  Hmmm, artist in the making?

P.S.  Help!  I want to post a video and am having issues!  Anyone got any pointers?

Pump It Up

Tonight we went to a friend’s birthday party!  It was at a place called Pump It Up!  It is a building filled with those inflatable “things.”  They had an obstacle course, a HUGE inflatable slide and two jump houses!  Since Nathan is so little, he was unable to enjoy the inflatables, but we did find a few things to play with.  He also found a few friends to play with ~ I am so glad that some of the kiddos brought their little brothers and sisters.

We parked it near the bottom of the inflatable slide near a huge padded mat.  Nathan pulled up on it, rolled over on it, sat next to it and played with the ball on it.  There were several rubber balls and Nathan found them!  It was cute to watch him play with them.  It was also cute to watch him “play” with the other children that were there.  Eventually 4 other children (and their moms) joined us on the mat ~ the kids were all about Nathan’s age.  He interacted with them, reached out to touch them and just watched them do things that he is thinking about doing . . .  namely crawling!  It was a unique sight!

Here are some pictures of our evening!

At the end of the evening, the mom wanted a group picture of her daughter’s birthday party!  Here is Nathan sitting for the picture!  I think this picture is absolutely precious!

P.S.  Yes, those are baby levi’s!  They were in a bag of clothes that someone gave me!  I love them!

Fireworks

We spent July 4th with Aunt Jenny and her family!  We went to dinner with her whole family (oh how I would love to be able to do that with my family on a regular basis).  Dairy Palace has the best hamburgers and fries.  We waited on getting ice cream because Jenny had brought a Village Bakery black forest birthday cake for her mother!  OH MY GOODNESS!  That was the best cake I have had in a very long time!  Whew!  Add Bluebell vanilla icecream and I was in heaven!

We then headed to the First Monday park to watch the fireworks.  Jenn’s dad brought a lot of plastic chairs and her mom brought a blanket!  Nathan and I parked it on the blanket to watch the fireworks.  Once again, Nathan was captivated!

It was great to hang out with family~even though it was someone elses!  Thanks, Aunt Jenny, for letting us hang out with you!  We had a great time!

The top of his head is cute!  He was way too interested in the blanket to pose for the picture!

Watching the fireworks and listening to me ooooh and aaahh!!!

I hope you had a great time celebrating July 4th!  I could watch fireworks ALL the time!  I also wondered what the fireworks at Disney World looked like on July 4th!  One year I will find out!

Happy 4th of July!!!!
